What factors have influenced your career choice?
There are a number of factors influencing my choice of career. The most critical factor would be the nature of job. I am put my affection on providing professional service. After my 4 years engagement in various student activities, I found my satisfaction of hard work comes from the satisfaction of others. Only when one can realize himself in his work, he can keep on going in his lifelong career path.
Narrow down to professional service sector, my favorite determines my career choice. I have been studying accounting for 5 years and finance for 4 years. The reason for pursuing a deeper understanding in these subjects is simple but convincing – I love it. I am sure the enthusiasm towards accounting and financing will keep me passionate in workplace.
Another significant factor is my competitive edge. I am a business student since Secondary 6. Hence, I am trained to be sensitive to the ever-changing business environment and numbers. Over years I have been taking up many positions in school associations. I am getting used to multi-tasks and work under tight deadlines. Cooperating with people with diverse background, I have developed strong communication skills. It would be perfect if I can perform what I have learned from the previous experience.
Money incentive is one of the influencing factors. I am the elder sister in my family therefore I shoulder the responsibility of earning a living to support my family expenses. It has long been my wish to provide a better living condition to my family. Therefore I expect my career will bring me satisfaction, together with a stable income.
