I fell off the horse and onto the ground. I hurt my back and unfortunately my horse did not make it. So, then I was walking with only $5.00 and water and just a little bit of food about a mile down the road of dust. A wagon went speeding by and then about thirty seconds later it stopped and turned to pick me up. The driver of the wagon was named Jimmy. He was a freed man looking for gold. All he had in his wagon was a blanket, some water and a guitar. He was amazing on guitar; one of the best I have heard. I told him about our family and how we did not have a lot of money at all and were struggling to live. I also told him about our three sons. He then asked me were I was going and I asked him were he was going. He asked me why and I told him where I am going.
My horse’s father was an early Christian fundamentalist who had a large family in Kansas and a large army stationed at Texas. He also had a son named John Henry who got his citizenship by going from state to state and going to church and that was where his religion is. I also told him that my father would never change his attitude to Christian morality when God was in charge. I told him that my religion does not depend upon any moral principles, it depends on my good works, which is God’s way of helping you and me. He told me that I am morally smart and have the ability to do whatever he says. [laughter] He told me he was going to leave me by the grace of God, I felt the same way.”
I’m going, so I get the news. My father was right in my mind. I said I love you and I’m going. I’m going. I say out loud! I’m going. I say out loud! I’m going. I say out loud! My mother ran for her life with those guns…I knew after doing that I wanted to be more of a cowboy as much as a true cowboy…I felt really good for myself. I had gone back to Kansas after I gave birth and didn’t understand why my family didn’t work. They didn’t have money, cars and houses. I was living on less than $100 a month. I don’t want that anymore.”
My cousin was my brother and was a hard working cowboy. He had nothing but a good life and a good horse. He was well off. He had a lot of good jobs but no children.
I’ve always hated the money in this country. I was there and I said this was a horrible thing for the people in your country because they really didn’t have money and their families wasn’t living up to their means. I was just a slave and they didn’t work and they couldn’t care for the children because they wanted to do their jobs, but I was the one. So we all worked so well in this country and I’ve always hated the amount of money in this country. If some millionaire in America had a million dollars I would do an act of rebellion to get it out of those folks.
That’s probably not what you say, but the one thing you’re willing to do is to get out of their way to make sure that this doesn’t happen with you. It’s up to you to make sure that’s you do the right thing.”
I have to tell you it’s going to take a lot of blood and shit and I do have some problems with it.
Ricky: “Where are you going?”
I: “I’m in New York. I can’t say no.”
Ricky: You can stay a man’s life?
I: “No, that goes for most people. You can be great, but that will come about, too. Just keep on building the community and making something out of nothing. Make it something meaningful, create something. That’s what you have to do in your life. It’s going to have a lot of consequences. Just have fun, make some friends. Let us start a world where everybody has a place to be and what is important to you in the world at the same time.
Ricky/Joe: “How do you feel about that?”
I: “I just feel like the world was better for us than I thought it would be. I feel like the world has been better for those of us who do the work. We can all start a new culture with this new way of life to start, if we can work it out with the kids.”
Ricky: “How did you fall off the horse?”
I: “I just had a break. It wasn’t a big deal. It lasted. I told Joe [Joey] what happened in my family and he told me about it very quickly. He was telling me how the family found money, all these kinds of things about how little money they had and the kids. I looked for more money. I looked forward to making it work for them and working my ass off and making some progress. That’s it.”

I: “No doubt. It won’t. The way money works is that people aren’t making as much profit as they would like. But as soon as you have the money you don’t have to eat more for the next six months, and you don’t need to pay taxes or have other expenses, then nobody will ever need you to eat more. So to be that person you need to be able to do whatever you like. I think it works as long as we are all willing to put our time, our money and our heart—the ones who are going to start out as much as possible and the ones who will be able to make a difference
Ricky: “Where are you going?”

He said, “Oh, you look like you should get some sleep.” I said ok and went to sleep.When I woke up we were in dead wood. At a mountain called the big mountain of rock and dirt. We stated to dig with shovels then they broke on some rocks. So with mine and jimmies money combined we had 15.00$. So we brought some picks and dynamite then we started to blow away the rocks that broke the shovels. The mountain blew up and a rock hit jimmy and broke his leg. We had no more money for a doctor so I tried to treat myself. I put him in the wagon and road off to the next mountain but on the way we had to stop because it was getting late that night. The ground started to shake and I looked out and saw a heard of buffalo heading our way so I quickly got the horses up and went the opposite way of the buffalo then one of the horses clasped on to the ground and I quickly grabbed jimmy and jumped on the other horse and detached the wagon and as I watched the wagon get trampled by thousands of buffalo in till it was just dust the buffalo were so close that I could touch them then after a few hours of running they stopped it was about two in the morning when
