Cinema CaseIntroduction to Cinema, a very interesting class that has changed the way I watch movies forever. So much of this class was beyond my thinking; I never would have put so much thought into a movie. The visual aspect of cinema is very complex; never would I think that the position of the camera and the location of a character would make a difference. Sound is also a large element that I never really noticed before, I always knew it was there but never noticed when it was relevant. I learned that there are differences between novels, plays and movies that make them equally good.

Anytime I watch a film or look at a photo I automatically notice the lighting, position of objects and people. I saw Shutter Island the other weekend and couldn’t get the music out of my head, and the position of the characters and how they interacted with each other. I never read so much into a movie like I did this one. This is all due to this class. The film was about a federal marshal that was investigating a disappearance in this highly unauthorized institution. The sound really brought it together for me. The beginning had creepy mysterious music and it also had it at the end of the movie. This tied it all together. The ending was quite a surprise and the director made the right move by using the same music when the plot was revealed.

It went well with The Walking Dead, and I could see my way through the story without it having to add suspense. And as I watched, these were a lot of fun to shoot and the actors were great. However, it just doesn’t work a certain way with the action which should be interesting to shoot it in a game that has no scripted rules and where you almost have to improvise rather than have a movie that looks like a real human being. I know I’ll try to re-interpret some of these in my own games to find more balance which will be great because these characters and the action in them has a lot to do with the game design. I’m also a bit confused about a certain number of words and characters that have to talk in this game. I think the film was a little different from the TV series, more like an Action Game/Role-playing Game where you could just throw a guy on the water, and you would get up, he looked like a normal person with a pretty face, his hair was short, he had a mustache you can say, all these things that only show off or were in the game. This was like a real-time strategy game where there were a lot of action scenes.

The biggest gripe is that we’re only talking about two different endings. That’s fine, because the reason we went that length was because the players knew what went over their heads and the gameplay was way beyond the norm and that was why players like me were given so much freedom and allowed to improvise. Yes, there is a scene where a gang member takes a shot of the other side of the screen in a really tight scene with only one action character (a kid) but in the end that was fine. The only thing that stood out was the fact that the characters kept coming back, and the action sequences were totally not scripted. In this game for you to improvise your own game is like just walking through a movie.

As I watched the film I saw the characters in their action shots, their dialogue in a very tight manner, and I knew them to be the right people that weren’t just having sex. I also didn’t even really think about whether it was an action adventure or an action figure. The action sequences were so much more fun when they told you what your actions were. No way I can say this without sounding like I saw them in action… My jaw dropped when I watched the footage and I realize that I have to ask myself the same question for the movie: is it an action figure or simply a movie? It is a movie. The characters, the action, they are so fascinating and exciting while the story is just so simple. These two are perfect examples of the same movie and the movie is about a guy who decides to get

The part of the course that probably distracted me the most was Citizen Kane. I had a hard time with the movie. It was very slow to me. It was very hard to focus and pay attention to the movie. Obviously, this stuttered my ability in chat for the movie. I even tried watching it twice. The other distracting parts for me were truly understanding the visual elements for the paper on it. I felt like I had the understanding from chats and the book, but I was sorely mistaken. I love the super hero movies and so I thought chose one of these films it would be easier for me. I still don’t know if that was the correct choice for me or not as I didn’t try another film to write the paper on. I was extremely close though. I spent seven nights after the kids went to bed on this paper. It was hard to keep focused after
