The jacksonians claimed to be guardians on the constitution, and they were, but they were also violators of the United States Constitution and not the guardians they claimed to be. They had strict interpretations of the constitution, mainly in areas involving states rights and also in opposition of the 2nd national bank.
Jacksonian Democrats displayed that they were the guardians of the US Constitution by vetoing the proposal by Clay to establish a Bank of the United States in 1822. By saying that the bank would be unconstitutional due to the fact that it favored the already rich people that owned land and had money to invest, the Jacksonians vetoed the proposal and protected the interests and opportunities of the poorer people of America. This is one way that the Jacksonian Democrats were the guardians of the United States Constitution.
The Jacksonians protected the political democracy of the United States by not letting too much political power get into the wrong hands or group of people in the United States. They did this by enforcing the Constitution and prohibiting proposals and legislative decisions that would influence affairs, such as that of the Bank of the United States proposed by Clay in 1822 and smaller issues like land disputes and arguments over territories. This is another way that the Jacksonian Democrats protected political democracy in the United States.
