Writing proposals can be sometimes seen as a difficult task meant to convolute a process that is in need of change to begin with. Weve all seen or had an issue with some process at work and would like to see it change. We may have even commented to our bosses about how a process could be improved with some small changes. We all know as well that change isnt implemented overnight and it wont happen by snapping your fingers either. Within any organization change is implemented through the use of Proposals. These documents allow you to pull materials, facts and figures together in order to present an argument either in support of or against the process change. Lets look at what are some of the key purposes and potential problems of writing a Proposal.

When looking to do a proposal the first task in the process is to decide what type of proposal you will need to write. There are several different kinds of proposals but there are 4 basic categories for a proposal to be lumped into. The biggest struggle I feel with writing proposals is to understand the types of proposals you can write and how each affects whats contained within the proposal itself. The different types of proposals help you to focus in on the most relevant one that will help to get your point across clearly and concisely. This is the biggest result of the proposal; you are trying to convey change through the proposal based off what information you can attain. Once you have a clear picture of the type of proposal you will write it allows you to quickly focus on the information you will need to attain.

Once you have the type of proposal you are going to do now you must decide what info to present with the proposal. The information contained within is every bit as important as the proposal itself. You want to provide material that allows the readers to quickly attain from the proposal its ultimate purpose as well as how this proposal if implemented impacts the readers as well as yourself. The problem though with the proposal is that sometimes you can get lost in the details of the proposal process. A proposal is a document suggesting a change of some sort or maybe the addition of something new. Writing a proposal is a positive way to inflict change however, you dont want to loose site of your goal during the writing of the proposal.
