Thesis:
The dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Japan by the United States had very different but lasting effect on Japan, the United States, and the World.
The atomic bombing affected Japan through an overwhelming loss of life,
destruction of property and long-term illness plaguing thousands.
Japans substantial loss of life was like no other natural catastrophe known to man at that time.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were essentially destroyed in a matter of seconds.
The ill effects of the radiation fall-out plagued Japan residents for years.
Japan surrendered as a result of the atomic bombs.
The United States justified the dropping of the atomic bombs as a way to save American lives, erase the perceived threat of invasion by the Soviet Union, and a show of American military might.
