There is not one company out in the work force that does not have moral problems. Now the issue is how they handle and solve those problems without creating animosity in the workplace. The company that I chose to talk about is my current employer the US Army. This organization has existed for over two centuries and it has gone through many changes over those past years. I will break it down to the lowest level which is the 12C Bridge crewmember/ Combat Engineer Military Occupational Skill (MOS) in the Engineer Branch. The 12C MOS is a very small field. In the Regular Army there are only five Active duty 12C units, so eventually throughout our military careers we end up running into people we have worked with before. Many have gone through Basic Combat Training together or have come up the ranks together as well. It seems like they are not only scared but to embarrassed to correct their own battle buddies when they are in the wrong. Being that its a laid back MOS when we are not actually bridging make the people in this organization lazy and therefore forget about the basic concept of being a U.S Soldier. In that down time a lot can be accomplished, like mentoring the younger Soldiers what right looks like and not allow them to continue making the same mistakes. It is a challenge when you have a Non Commissioned Officer making a correction and then another one who lets the Soldiers slide by without correction. My emphasis for this matter is on the proper wear and appearance of the uniform, hair and grooming standards and the physical fitness of Soldiers.

There are many doctrines, Army Regulations and set standards that our workforce has to abide by, in order to maintain that professional and military appearance. Everything we do is part of our customs and courtesy a tradition passed over the years. Many of the Soldiers in todays Military do not take into consideration what our forefathers sacrificed for us. A lot of the people that join the military, do not join because they want to serve their country, they do it because either they were fired from former jobs, could not find another job or for school money. The standards started dropping because we tried making it easy enough for soldiers to pass so that we can increase our numbers, which is why our military has weakened so much over the last years that Soldiers in todays military, cannot withstand the rigorous training events and therefore try finding the easiest way out. We do not have strong leaders that will enforce the standards of proper grooming, hair standards, military appearance and physical fitness. The way I handle issues like this is through proper mentoring, coaching and guidance. Any Soldier that is slacking on the Army standards I make on the spot corrections, because if we do not correct them right there and then we will then have created a new standard.

In this organization we have weak and strong leaders; those that are just stripe wearers
