Sensory Perceptions
Provide at least three reasons for believing in the accuracy or inaccuracy of sensory information.
If fortunate enough we all have five senses which are hearing, sight, touch, smell and taste. These senses enable us to be aware of our surrounding. There are many ways our senses can be helpful by giving our brain the right information or can be deceptive by tricking our minds.

Our senses prove its accuracy on daily bases. Smelling uses the noise that sends sensations to the brain. When we smell smoke we admittedly know there is a fire or something is burning. Then our sense sends a message to our brain that we need to take care of the problem or leave if its too dangerous. The touch sensory is circulated throughout our body. When something is felt such as hot, cold or pain a sensation is sent to the brain. If when cooking, you accidently slid your hand against the stove burner your touch sensory will send a message to your brain. After receiving this message your brain will let you know it is vital to move your hand off the burner before receiving further injury. Vision is used on an everyday occasion especially when walking or driving. Our sight allows us to see our environment so we can stop at red lights, wait for cars to pass and know when its safe to walk across a street.

Identify and describe at least three factors contributing to the accuracy of sensory data.
When it comes to the accuracy of sensory data there are numerous things that can cause an affect. First and what I believe is most important is food. Our brain needs food in order to function properly which in return allows our senses to work properly. Eating a well-balanced diet with plenty of vitamins, protein and especially starches will ensure our brain has the right food to stay properly functioning(Kirby & Goodpaster, 2007). Without a proper diet our brain lacks the energy it needs in order to function and will have an effect on the sensory data.

Drugs also play a huge factor in contributing to sensory accuracy. Certain types of drugs such as pain medication or narcotics can affect the brain. When on these types of medication it will lead to a delay in the bodys reaction time. Some types of drugs can even cause hallucination. This could lead to serious injuries and long term issues (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2007).

Lastly sleep is a factor that can contribute to the accuracy of our sensory. Sleep is so important we spend a third of our lives doing it (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2007). The brain needs sleep in order to function properly. If the brain is deprived of sleep the sensory accuracy greatly decreases. Just like with certain medications our entire bodys functions will be delayed. This results in delaying the sensory messages that are sent to the brain and affect the accuracy of
