Women are sexual assaulted more than what statistics has showed because all women did not reported the assault. Some women are afraid to admit that she has been assaulted because of the fear of people not believing them, judging them, or losing a job. There are more women in the workplace than ever before, due to single-family households and the slightly depressed economy. Most sexual assaults happen in the workplace. According, to Womens Health Weekly, 1 out 5 women have admitted they have encountered a rape situation during their lifetime.

Companies need to have a policy in place that would protect females from sexual assaulted in the workplace. Not all sexual assaults are women; men can also be victims of sexual assaults. No sexual assaults should be ignored. Companies should address all incidents of sexual violence and assaults that happen in the workplace. The purpose of this research is to inform women to report sexual assaults. Not reporting the assault would not help the situation. Reporting the assault can help the victim and help capture the attacker. In addition, reporting the assault can also help other women who may be afraid to speak out about the assault. A person feel more comfortable speaking with someone who can relate to his or her situation.

The type of collection method that was used in this research was qualitative data. Qualitative data collection method provided information that was useful to understanding the process of the behind the observed results and assess changes in peoples perception of their well-being. I feel that this research would help others to be more involved with helping others. A woman who has been sexual assaulted would be more comfortable telling others if she knew that the person would not judge her and act as if it was her fault that the assault happened.

The researcher concluded to accomplish the goal of helping women feel safe in the workplace, occupational nurses and nurses practitioners must be trained in sexual assaults and violence responses as well as preventive interventions.
