What is the procedure for a tummy tuck?
The tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made in the abdominal wall. The surgeon separates the skin and muscle all the way up to the ribcage. After this the vertical muscles are tightened. This creates a firmer abdomen. The extra skin is removed and the incision is stitched and bandaged to ensure proper healing with minimal scarring. After the surgery youll be hospitalized for 2-3 days. The procedure takes 2-3 hours.
