The movie starts on the day 10909 of the show when Truman is almost 30 years old. His life passed by living in a splendid seaside town called Seahaven settled in an extraordinary dome that can provide natural occurrences technologically such as; the type of weather wanted.

In the prospect of Christof, producer and director of the show, Truman is the perfect chosen star for his show being born at a very perfect time. What so ever, Truman delights living his life as a stereotype of a pleasurable husband who does his chores, goes to work every day and even wears formal suits to look elegant. During his childhood he was purposely made afraid of water so there will be no probability of escaping. He was also pressured to merry Meryl, whom he claimed to not love truly.

Merly in this show is the backbone of product placement. She advertises almost everything from hot chocolates to lawn mowers. However, shes not the only vehicle running product placement. Merlin, on the other hand, advertises male merchandise, especially the 6 packs of beer every now and then. Background actors also advertise variety of typical and atypical items for consumption in incongruous ways. Audience of the show later accomplish that many products viewed in the show are up for consumption even the show itself.

Pathetically, The Truman Show is a flawless example of unethical conduct. Overall in this show, Truman is being experimented with no informed consent or legal confirmation. He is furtively being watched by inundated amount of people worldwide who take no responsibility to verify the unethical treatment upon Truman other than Silvia, who is very morally sophisticated. She attempts to provide Truman freedom and privacy in every potential way. She even called Christof to reveal how sinful he is, however he didnt care a single bit. Truman continued to live under the life of motivated scheme by Christof until figuring out how systematically events occurred. Even knowing he feared from water although at the end he overwhelms his fears to continue his life into the real world to be one who is for real then one who is for reality entertainment.
