Milestone One
Did you know that if you were to commit a murder or even an assault and your reason
behind it was you didnt like them based on ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc you will get
an entirely seperate charge for doing so. It doesnt matter if your a white man who hates blacks,
a homophobe who hates gays, or a christian who cant stand Jewish folks! We have a task
force set up specifically to deal with such occurances. I will be discussing three different
scenarios where hate crime is dealt with;
“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the
party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to
their jurisdiction.”
For thousands of years we have had a HUGE dilemma,a problem that potentially faces
every single person in the world.. racism! It doesnt matter if your; black, white, asian, indian,
etc every single day in America somebody is murdered because of it.
Trayvon Martin was a teenage boy, who was black, was carrying nothing but a bag of Skittles,
some money and a can of iced tea when he was shot.” For what? Because the man.. GROWN
man who shot him thought he was “suspicioius” looking. How do you justify shooting and killing
a 15 year old boy?
I have a beautiful 8 month old daughter named; Brooklyn. She is fifty percent African
American and fifty percent Caucasian; if she scrapes her knee she bleeds red, when she cries
her tears are the same as yours and mine, she laughs and plays with her toys and enjoys the
park just like anyother eight month old child. Yet when I walk into a store with her I can feel the
eyes shift my direction and I can clearly see others judging her for the skin on outside rather than
the character on the inside. I taech her to embrace who she is and love herself and others for
their personality and whats in their heart.
