CIP Topic Exploration
Part I
What drew me to the topic of Sin is because its a very controversial topic. Most people believe you have to be religious to believe in Sin but that is not always the case. Sin can be reflected on your morals and if you feel you did the right thing or if it broke your morals. I also chose this topic because of the fact that people base it on religion, and Im not very religious meaning I want to explore that field a little bit more. When I was growing up, the church scared the children into thinking everything was basically selfish meaning it was sinful. I want to learn more about what other people think Sin is and how it became something people were fearful of.

Part II
Sin- A person who disregards morals and beliefs and performs or thinks of selfish, evil acts (usually present in Judaism and Christianity). Sin is divided into two subparts- formal and material. When you perform a formal sin it means you know its the wrong thing to do therefore you feel guilty about it in the end. Material sin is usually your human nature and Gods law, that you do something wrong and not realize it yourself therefore it is not personally culpable. Sin is usually associated with religion and the thought of disobeying the church for personal benefit. When Sin comes in mind, people think of it as a separation from God showing how the more you Sin, the farther you are from reaching heaven. For more formal Sins, people think of Sin usually as being unfaithful because it hurts people in the end and sometimes it could be material because it might not be known the person ends up being hurt.
