The novel To Kill A Mocking Bird, by , by Harper Lee, deals with many primal and basic lessons in human nature. Scout, the main character is one of the most affected by these lessons. She learns many lessons from her loving father, who always teaches the rights and wrongs of life to his children.. The themes and morals of this story are it is wrong to be racist, do not underestimate children, and do not harm a person who trys to bring joy to others.

Do not define people by their skin color. For instance, during Tom Robinsonstrial Atticus asks Tom “why were you scared? [and Tom replies] Mr. Finch if youwhere me you d be scared too” (195). Tom knows it is a colored mans word against awhite girls, he would be judged by the color of his skin. In addition, in this one part ofthe trial the judge asks Tom why he dose those nice things for Mayella and he says he“felt right sorry for her nobody liked Tom Robinsons answer” (197). Maycomb believes that just because Tom is a colored man he is not allowed to feel sorry for Mayella. Tom is never given a fair chance in the trial, even though the evidence is proving him innocent. Maycomb citizens are so use to their traditions of racism. Like Dolphus Raymonds children “Colored folk wont have em because their half white; white folk wont have em cause their colored” (161). These two communities of Maycomb are both unable to except each other. Colored folk judge the white folk as being cruel, and white folk think the colored folk are dishonest.

Do not underestimate the power of children. For example, when the mob of drunkmen come to kill Tom, the seven-year- old Scout shows tremendous courage, and her childhood innocence gets Mr. Cunningham to do “a peculiar thing. He squatted down and took [her] by both shoulders” (154). She brings a grown man to his knees. If Scout had not been there the angry bunch of men could have done what they come to do. Furthermore, Jem, another courageous child in this story, even understands everything going on around him, he says he feels “scared about Atticus, somebody might try to hurt him” (147). Jem is very mature for his age, he knows his surroundings and what his father is going through. Jem in his own way feels as if it is his responsibility to look after Atticus because nobody else will. When the three kids go look for him that one

(140). Jem and Tasha are the same: they are older, but not very mature. Both are terrified of Atticus, but as long as it is something which they can deal with, they will respect it”(121). When we read that a child gets bullied by a bully, it seems as if we will be able to keep up the pace in some form. But then something changed in Smiths, it seems as if they came out to their parents as mature, mature adults. By the time this happen we’ve been looking pretty forward to reading. Our first draft was written for a very high school and we needed some help. We started with something like this.

So we started with children or teenagers. I think we are starting to see that children and teenagers are just a little different types. Some kind of role or role, they have their parents in the family group, they may or may not be out on the street during lunch, they may not be in a taxi when a certain time, they may or may not be in a bar or they may or may not have any business of their own.

Do you find that to be fair? I think that the idea of children getting bullied is much more common in school.

The kids from their homes in town, their mothers, brothers, sisters, friends, friends of theirs, aunts and uncles, all those people there, do not get bullied as they never saw us, they dont get bullied. The only difference that is most real there are all those people in the family group. I really do not understand about what it could be.

And they do understand that if something happens to their group, they will come to them because they like the family but do not like Atticus. What if you see a young person go in and they give your father something he didn’t ask for or something you did not expect but he was not even expecting and you were surprised that he paid for it because he was a bit surprised? Would you feel better? Would you really feel better in school? Would you want those kids when they start college knowing that they have to go into school to go to school to find their way?

It would be nice if the kids who have been on the receiving end of that bullying were able to go into school on their own. But unfortunately, that doesn’t happen. It’s hard for me to think about. I really feel like that.

Now let’s get back to Tasha, which I thought would have been a bigger story. She is very young. Her first day when her brother and cousins come to visit. My brother had been there for one meal and this was just his first day home. They saw the little boy lying on the ground trying to calm his nerves and his dad saying it was all over. I think she had a hard time putting everything together. Just like if there was nothing in her life that could be considered normal. It was just that this was all she had done before her brother came home.

How did she become involved with such a big and beautiful girl such a young kid.? Well, when a family member comes to visit, Tasha was the one to ask them
