First, I had to label the plastic bags 1 through 6. Put gloves on and place a fresh apple in bag 1. Next, I had to rub the rotting apple over five other apples. Then, I put one untreated apple in bag 2. After, that I held an apple 1.5 meters above a newspaper on the floor and drop it. I put it in bag 3. Later, I rubbed 1 apple over sandpaper. I put it in bag 4. Afterward, I washed an apple with soap and water. I dried it well. I put it in bag 5. Second to last, I used a cotton ball to spread alcohol over the last apple. I let it air dry. I put it in bag 6. Finally, I sealed all bags and put them in a dark place.
The goal of my procedure was to see how microorganisms infect apples put under different conditions. You can use this to find out about how bacteria spreads through organisms. The most important information is that without microorganisms life would cease to exist. Even though some of these tiny living things can cause chaos to humans, animals and plants (agriculture), they also perform many necessary functions that are part of the life cycle.
