In many areas of our lives, the primary purpose of the eCommerce system will be the sale of goods and services.

Many retailers will have multiple digital accounts or services, so any one eCommerce service can be placed on one site. Thus there are several channels of eCommerce that may be considered by many the most valuable part of a merchant’s business to be eCommerce. But most of these channels only function when a merchant is willing to communicate with a large number of customers and consumers over the phone. If a merchant doesn’t have a major customer base and is unwilling to communicate with a large number of prospective customers and consumers over the phone, it is possible that customers and consumers may be confused and won’t want to buy goods and services as readily as they might with a more common company.

Many merchants, especially for physical goods, can handle multiple, local and national channels at the same time, with a single digital account for every customer and customer group. However, if a merchant uses only one and is not willing to use all of the channels, at least two or three of the online channels remain unavailable for that customer group.
