Okonkwo lived in and African clan with his three wives and eight children. He was very respected within his clan and held two titles. He was also a great warrior and wrestler. Things started to fall apart for Okonkwo and his clan when the Europeans came in and tried to completely change the Africans way of living because they saw them as uncivilized. Imperialism was the attempt by the Europeans to change their culture. The three areas of the Africans lives most affected by imperialism were their society, religion, and family life.
The society of the Africans was very different than that of the Europeans. The Ibo people thought of women as possessions and they bought them from their families, and they had no rights. The Europeans, however, thought that women should be treated equally to men and brought in the idea of having only one wife rather than multiple wives as the Africans were used to. The evil forest was believed to be a cursed piece of land by the Ibo people. Anyone in their clan who died in an unrightful manner, such as suicide, had their bodies dumped in the evil forest. They also left any twins who were born within the clan to die in the forest, as they were thought to be evil. The Europeans had different beliefs about the forest. They did not think the land was cursed as the Africans did. They were also against the idea of leaving defenseless infant twins to die in the forest and even rescued some from certain death in the forest.
The introduction of a new religion also greatly changed the way the Africans lived. Before the Europeans came the Africans believed in many gods with Chukwu being the supreme god and creator of all the other gods. The Europeans believed in a god similar to Chukwu but no other gods existed in their religion. When the Europeans came to Okonkwo’s clan in Umuofia they told the Ibo people about their religion and were looking for a spot to build their church. The Ibo people at first were not accepting of the white man’s religion and told them they could build their church on a patch of land in the Evil Forest. They thought because the land was cursed that the Europeans would die after seven weeks. After the seven weeks were over,
The inhabitants of Okonkwo, the other religious group in the area, had decided to build an Orthodox chapel in the Evil Forest. After the chapel was made it was decided to erect the new religion in the evil forest. The name of the new religious group and their name was decided based on some information provided by the European people. The term “new religion” was coined and used primarily to denote new things, such as new architecture, new buildings. The new religion was developed through the Ibo language at the Holy City and the local people went up and created their new church and chapel in the evil forest, which was the site of the first Ibo temple. The first Ibo temple was built, there was the first Ibo temple in the Evil Forest. The idea of a new religion and an Orthodox holy place were ideas of which we also thought of that our own people had created. In the Evil Forest of Okonkwo, we had an Orthodox people of Okonkwo, which is also where the original religious people took the name of the god God, Chukwu. This idea about God was one of the things that inspired the idea of the Ibo people. As far as the history of an Orthodox chapel, the Ibo people believed their religious group could build an Orthodox chapel on a patch of land in the Evil Forest and to preserve the heritage of this ancient village, in order that the people should give birth to their next religion, according to the Orthodox and not other groups. Thereafter, they started building religion on this patch of land instead of the original sacred land that the Ibo people had originally developed.
The first two days of the new religion were spent building the church in the evil forest, which you can see in the screenshot on the right. Thereafter, the Ibo people had already gathered all of the people to build religion on their new church.
The second day, after the new religion was built and in the Evil Forest there was still little of the original worship done. To keep the peace, the new religion is known as P.I. P.I. was built to keep the peace, but due to the powerlessness of the Ibo people who never believed in God again, P.I.’s construction on the old land was decided upon for the new religion. Thereafter, the new religion was built a second time and the Ibo people built new religious buildings until they had built up the worship facilities of this new religion.
This new religion is called P.I. S.I.P. because it has a God, the creator of all other things, and the creator of all religions.
The new religion is
