Skill Building: Familiarization with the Use of PASCO Motion Sensor and Temperature Sensor Using Data Studio and/or SPARK
INTRODUCTION
Different places have different temperatures. The temperature of our surroundings can be cold or hot and this affects the temperature of a person. A person’s different body parts also have different temperatures. This experiment would not only tell us what affects the temperature of a person, but also the reason as to why the temperature of a body part is not equal to the average internal body temperature. In fact, the results would also explain if the distance of the body parts from the core of the body is one factor that can have an effect on the temperature of each body parts. While in motion, it involves distance, velocity, acceleration, and time. The velocity of a moving object corresponds to the change in displacement and time. In order to determine the most accurate acceleration, one must look for the accurate initial and final velocity and time first because both quantities are needed in solving for the acceleration of the object in motion.

MATERIALS
Motion Sensor
Temperature Sensor
PASCO USB Link/Spark
Data Studio (computer)
PROCEDURE
Using a computer, connect the temperature sensor to the PASPORT USB link to be able to open and use the Data Studio. After launching the Data Studio, set it up to monitor temperature data. To start monitoring, click “Start”, then measure the temperature of the room by holding the temperature sensor anywhere inside the room. When the temperature on the screen stops moving, click “Keep” because that indicates already the exact temperature of the room. Repeat the same procedure in measuring the thumb, hand, elbow, and armpit. Just place the temperature probe to these body parts while measuring. Click “Keep” to record the data of each body part. Then, click “Stop” after measuring all the said body parts to complete the data. After the data collection and analyzing
