As a student I have read many poems through my school years, but I have three poems that are my favorite there are “Lady Lazarus” by Sylvia Plath. “Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening” by Robert Frost and “Driving to town late to mail a letter” by Robert Bly. These poems are my favorite because I can relate in some aspects on a personal level in “Lady Lazarus”,” Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening” and “Driving to town to mail a letter” reminds of nature.

Sylvia Plath is one of my favorite female authors because he uses symbolism, imagery and theme to capture the reader’s minds. The poem “Lady Lazarus” is a well-written poem using many symbolisms and also it is a confessional poem. I also enjoyed reading poems that have symbolism; it draws me in as a reader. “Lady Lazarus” is about Plath personal life; her expression of (dying) committing suicide in which later in life she accomplished. I enjoyed this poem because Plath writes about death not in a depressive or sad manner but as a joking way for example, in the beginning of the poem she wrote, “ I have done it again. One year in every ten. I mange it”(Plath). This few line clearly show Plath proud ness in her attempt to commit suicide. When I read this poem I get goose bump because I bewilder me of Plath boastful and truth writing.

Another poem I enjoy reading is “Stopping by the Woods on a snowy evening” by Robert Frost. I am an individual who enjoys the presence of winter I enjoyed looking outside my window after blizzard to see the tranquility of white sheets of snow everywhere. I chose this poem because when I read the poem the image I receive is of a dark calm winter night and the narrator
