Survey Analysis of Dinning Hall Service Industry
Survey Analysis        Our Survey was made with Survey Monkey. The link to the survey was sent out to many people we knew. Of those many people, 33 people took and completed the entire survey. Of those 33 only 30 after worth reading due to the other three having irrelevant answers. The survey had 8 questions. Every questions made them answer in their own words. The questions in order were: “What kind of food options would you want the dining hall to serve?”, “How important is it to you for there to be healthy options?”, “If you do not eat at the dining hall, where else do you eat?”, “How important is diversity in types of foods to you?”, “Would you be open to trying an international dish once a week?”, “What are your preferred dining hall hours?”, “Would you be willing to pay $4,300 for an unlimited meal plan? If not, why not? How much would you pay?”, and “What kind of atmosphere would you like the dining hall to have?”.

Question one had varying responses. People were interested in eating foods from seafood to international dishes, to healthy, and even a little bit of everything. Based on these answers we will need a diverse menu. Question 2 was much easier to analyze because almost everyone would like to eat healthy food. There will need to be good healthy options available every day. Question 3 varied greatly again. People eat at other places on campus, restaurants, fast food, basically all around. One take away from this would be again to emphasize diversity. Question 4 was a resounding yes on having diversity in their menus. People want to pick what they eat, so we will need to give them plenty of options. Question 5 was mostly answered with positivity. People would either say yes or maybe to having international dishes. Perhaps a few nights or at least one a week there is an international dish as an entrée. Question 6 was interesting. A lot of people requested that the dining hall be open either 24/7 or at least open very late. We may need to hire a night staff to go all night or at least have people stay overtime in order to fulfill their needs. Question 7 was also interesting. I don’t think anyone understands how much an unlimited meal plan actually costs. Only one person would pay the price for it. Everyone else said it was a rip off. We may be able to drop the price but not as low as some of the people answered they would pay. Question 8 was split almost down the middle. People want a home like feel and a restaurant feel. Perhaps we could split the dining hall in two. Have half of it being restaurant like and half of it more relaxed and homey.
