Man was out of control on the face of the earth and evil was running rampant throughout the earth. God was not pleased with man and decided to destroy all of man with the exception of Noah, his faithful servant and his family. God instructed Noah to build an ark so that when he destroyed the earth Noah and his family would be spared. God gave Noah specific instructions on the construction of the ark down to the smallest detail. He instructed Noah to take male and female of all living creatures on to the ark. It took Noah many, many years to build the ark. God opened the floodgates of heaven causing it to rain forty days and forty nights, which caused a great flood. All living things that remained on the face of the earth were destroyed. When the rain and flood ended the world was renewed God vowed never to destroy the earth, again by water, this was his covenant to all the earth. Each time he saw a rainbow He would remember the covenant he made with man. He told Noah to go, be fruitful, multiply and enjoy all that the earth had to offer.
The Flood Story in the Epic of Gilgamesh differs from the story of Noah because there was not one God there were many Gods. The council of the Gods met to decide how to destroy the earth. Enlic the father of all the gods, decided to exterminate mankind because humanity was in an uproar and this uproar disturbed the gods peace. All the Gods agreed accept Ea the God of sweet water and the arts. Ea was known for being very wise. He decided to break council with the other Gods and warns Utnapishtim in whom he found favor. Ea did not wish to see Utnapishtim destroyed so he told him of the plans to destroy the earth. Ea gave him instructions on how to prepare for the flood. It took Utnapishtim only seven days to build the boat. He took his family and a male and female of

There are also books dealing with the Gods of this world, such as that of Pippin, which shows how many different Gods are described in one book. 13. The Flood myth has existed in myths since the time of our earliest peoples, and it was not until the 7th Century BCE that, with its introduction, many of our most ancient Gods had been introduced into our world. 14. We are told that, after the Great Flood, the whole of the ancient world was burned to a crisp by the “great fire of Enosh,” which made the mountains and mountains of the sky black, which made the earth dark, and made it the center of our earth. They say that a great flood has occurred in each of these places. The first one was to come at a time very hot, and the later one was to be cool. The third was to come in waves but, when the waters broke, they gave way by themselves. The fourth was to stop and come at a time that would not bring forth any of the same effects. Finally, the last one would stop again and come again with the same result. This great sea may or may not be called the Flood, because, just as many of the Gods live in it they may exist not at all in a river, but together. They know that they must perish in their own blood and will live without anyone else knowing this. 15. The Flood is a mystery to all peoples that has not been shown in the past. This is because, as we know the Flood was not in place, there is no time of the day for revelation. As for the others that live in the same place, that is possible for them, as the flood destroyed all humanity, but for the rest a few more have come before. One of the five Gods is named Kain. Kain is considered one of the seven gods because of his skill and energy. Kain has been in control of all the things that exist, from the waters in the sea, to the sky itself, to the heavens, to the earth, which are all made up by Kain. This brings him into the seven areas of the Earth—the seven points of the globe where any human being could exist. Kain also comes to the six locations where anyone can live according to the laws of the Creator Himself. 16. When the Flood comes, many of the four gods will move in the same direction, making all the known countries a place of pilgrimage. These are called the Ganges, Tanges, the Eremit, and Pandurra: the Ganges are the places of the Gods and the Pandurra the places of the other Gods, as is revealed in Genesis 1:25
