Anne Rice (Allen O’Brien) was born October 4 1941 in New Orleans, chose the name Anne as a child. She married Stan Rice in 1961. Her Daughter Michele was born in 1966.At the age of 5 Michele passed away of leukemia. Then in 1978 her son Christopher was born and later became an accomplished novelist himself. After her husband passed away from a brain tumor she moved to California which is were she currently is staying.

Lestat narrates this story. He is on a quest to get redemption, goodness, and the love of Rowan Mayfair. This story has love and loyalty, passion and promise. Lestat is trying real hard to redeem himself for what he has done to the Mayfair family. Trying to get away from the vampire ways is harder then Lestat thought but struggles to do so anyways. The story takes place in New Orleans. Vampires struggle just like the rest of us.

At the start of this novel Mona is wasting away from a disease she got from the result of the birth of her daughter they call it WALKING BABY. Tarquin “Quinn” Blackwood is a vampire and a very good companion to Lestat, he is also Mona’s lover. Lestat makes her into a vampire due to please Quinn who is unable to see Mona in her condition. Lestat is trying to prevent the family from knowing this and unwilling falls in love with Rowan Mayfair. She secretly falls for him to.

Mona learns quickly that the blood from Lestat is a very powerful and matches that of the eldest vampire. She feels more powerful and her anger about her situation with Rowan and their shared secret of the Taltos makes her act out at Rowan and her husband. She struggles with her own self and Lestat and her lover (Quinn). She learns her place in the world with the help from Lestat who is by her side at all times. She also learns that Lestat has promised to help her find her child who Is a Taltos.
