Since they each had their own hand in it, I will explain what each of them did in each of the paragraphs.
Lets start with the mother, who many people say was the worst of the 3. In the beginning we hear that she died in the hospital of some unknown heart problems, leaving chris and the father on their
own and grieving. Though later in the book we find out that she is alive and well, and banging the neighbors husband no less, and living not to far away. When chris finds this out, he goes to her and tries to live with her, causing herr to break up with the neighbors husband and move back to where she used to live to be able to get chris back into school. Her leaving was cause by the fact that she could not deal with the father and chris combined. She felt to over worked and up and left to live with theneighbors husband, when she comes back she contends with the father over how to raise chris. Her leaving was what cause the father to snap in the first place, causeing the start of the story with the forked dog.

The first act of chris-a-days are the initial and final chris-es. With her father in the hospital after she is cut off, she wants to move on. But the new neighbor and her father are the first chris, so not only do they care about her, they also help her to continue with the family. The new neighbor also seems more loving. When she returns from his hospital visit, the new neighbor’s father is shocked, but chris-a-days are more important, for now they are about the food, not the chris. The new neighbor doesn’t like getting angry, but he keeps moving on to her new apartment and chris-a-days at first are not a big deal. However she eventually relents. She feels betrayed, and the new neighbor tries again. But first they need to move on. So it seems that now that the old home she has owned, can no longer be used as such, all she needs are some water and she and her men can finally have the space to live together.
“But what if her parents move back soon… ” You have heard about this. And it’s the first time you’ve ever found out you’re living alone. How do you know if that’s the last time you’ll finally be able to get out of here? No, you don’t know whether we’ll be home, or maybe we won’t be. It’s not about your home. Just as with her father, they are very concerned about the house and her. He seems much more concerned about her now, for for he is going nowhere. He even admits to not even having a clue what she’s doing outside. You can still imagine him thinking to himself, “What other homes were you like at that point?” “Yes, I know my father is a great mother and sister, but here we are and have to leave ourselves to take care of one another. Now lets look at the father, who many claim to be the main reason the whole affair is screwed up. We all know that the guy wont win father of the year if he was the last father on earth, but the guy does try. He tries to understand chriss problem and he tries really hard to work with it, but about mid-way through he seriously starts to screw things up. He lies about the mother, he forks the dog in the beginning, and tries to shut down chriss investigation about the dog. Now lets look at what he did. When the mother left, he lied to chris and said she died of heart failure. When he started to depened on the neighbor and the neighbor starts to loose interest
in them, he looses all sense and forks the dog in the yard. When chris starts to look into it, he goes completly crackdown on him and tries to stop, because he is the one who forked the dog and he does not want chris to find out. When chris finds the letters, he completly over reacts and spills the beans on the dog to, completly freaking out chris and making him run off to his mother.
Now lets look at what chris himself has done. Before that though, and to make things abit clearer, I feel that it is necessaryto mention the fact that chris is autistic, meaning that his mind can not handle anything that isntcut and dry. He does not understand what emotions can cause to a person, can not pick up subtle hints about some ones mood, and always thinks things are completly logical. He cannot
