Exceptional LearnersExceptional learners are students that require special education and related services that help them reach their potential (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015). There is a wide range of exceptional learners. Each are unique in their own way. These particular students have specific educational differences from other students when it comes to learning (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015). In order for these students to reach their potential and gain satisfactory progress, they must receive certain services and early intervention is critically important.

In every state, there are specific guidelines and rules that must be followed in order to meet the standards within the Individuals with Disabilities Act, or IDEA. The IDEA requires each state to have a specific plan for identifying students with potential disabilities (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015). Students who are identified with potentially needing special education or related services are usually referred by their general education teachers. However, sometimes the referral comes from the parents/guardians. Once the student is referred to possibly receive special education, they can be evaluated, but only with the full consent of the parents/guardians (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015). The evaluation takes place over the course of 60 days- after the consent of the parents. This determines the results in which whether or not the student will receive or is eligible for special education services.

When it comes to the eligibility of a student being able to receive special education, there is a multidisciplinary team that makes this determination. This team consists of parents/guardians, a special education teacher, a general education teacher, counselor, administrator, and/or a school psychologist (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015). Having a general education teacher in this particular meeting is not an option. A general education teacher can range from a social studies teacher to a physical education teacher. The multidisciplinary team makes their decision solely based on the presence of the student’s disability and the need for the service (Hallahan, Kauffman, & Pullen, 2015).

When developing a student’s individualized education program, or IEP, there is a team of professionals that work together along with the parents that help design this specific program in order to clearly outline the goals and objectives of the student’s learning. It helps give an overview of where the student is now, whether it be academically or behaviorally, and where they need to be. This occurs on an annual basis. IEPs help with finding the right placement for the student, which ultimately will allow the student to flourish and do well. There is a range of environments where students can be placed in order to accommodate their needs. The overall goal of the multidisciplinary team is to transition the student into a classroom with a least restrictive environment,

The Student

The individualized IEP is the most effective tool in achieving the Student’s goals and needs. The student, as the student’s education is focused on, will develop great self-confidence, academic improvement, and learning capacity. This can be seen through behavior or social interactions. The Student can be more engaged, more focused, and has much more personal style. In addition to being able to develop a higher self-esteem and respect for the human condition, this is critical for the Student to grow and become more productive. If they develop an attitude to learning, they will gain more in the world.

While each individual or group has their own unique challenges, IEPs can help to facilitate your learning.

The IEP is focused on bringing together the student in a more meaningful way. Students will be able to grow and gain as a part of that community. You may choose a private or social environment, or choose to be in a public setting so that your learning is more of a focus. You will also have one or more social opportunities such as a classroom or team meeting, the IEP will be part of a student’s personal organization or group. IEPs will foster collaboration through social interactions and individual learning. Your IEP team will focus on creating a group of students that align to a specific goals and needs, and develop a commitment to them.

One of the defining characteristics of an educator is how it is used as an organization. A teaching assistant or classroom teacher is a person who is a resource, in effect, who works with the individual to provide for the students needs. They provide guidance and support, and support in general. An educator may also be the primary social resource in class.

One of the most often used terms is “teaching assistant.” Teachers who work with students to achieve their goals and goals using specific training. A great instructor will look to provide students with guidance in many aspects of their work.

Education is one of the key factors that keeps students safe from other adults and from bullying and bullying themselves. Learning assistants are great for students that use these activities to develop their goals and goals, and for teachers that use the teaching assistant to teach and provide support. This type of role is necessary in order for the student to learn and grow.

The IEP also offers an opportunity for parents to make the most of the IEP by supporting and building up a successful educational program. Parental support will be provided to parents through special education, parenting training, program support and other programs during a class week. During a classroom week, parents can send their students to other schools and classrooms in order to ensure that they have received the training necessary to support their educational mission.
