Is There Pride in the Military?
How can anyone look into a soldiers eyes and question if they have any pride in serving in the military? Especially a soldier who has just gotten back from being stationed in Afghanistan for a year. A soldier who has left his or her family to go and defend our country. A soldier who while fighting lost an arm and became deaf from a road side bomb. The only thing someone should say the next time they look into a soldiers eyes is thank you. Thank you for being brave and risking your life so others dont have too. There definitely is pride in serving in the military. Theres a sense of accomplishment, leadership, maturity, and pride in serving in our military.
What better accomplishment then knowing that you defended your country? That you fought when others couldnt. Soldiers put their lives in danger to protect friends and family and the very rights our founding fathers promised us. Other countrys do not have rights because they dont have their country men fighting for them. Womans rights are the first to go too. In some countries the women cant work. They have to clean, cook, take care of the kids, and do what the men tell them to do. Is that right? I know that Im proud to be an American and live in the United States and I thank our soldiers for fighting for us.
Theres a saying “Go in as a boy, return as a man.”, which is referred to people going into the military. There are admirable qualities that soldiers get from being in the military. Like discipline, leadership, perseverance, defence, and maturity. These arent just boys and girls playing war with toy guys, these are men and women who are trained and take their job seriously. Yeah if they didnt I would think that they have no pride, but they do. Soldiers form special bonds with fellow soldier. It makes fighting in a war and knowing that you might die any day a little easier when youre along side
