Threat:Society’s role:Entertainment’s role:Argue against himResponse: Marilyn Manson thinks the real threat to young people is religion. He believes that it allows us to form a negative connotation with God if we are “atheist”. He claims his music is about believing in one self rather than denoting it. Marilyn Manson believes that entertainment is supposed to be strictly about individuality and having a good time. He thinks that society must sensor music/entertainment, because he claims his music to be about promoting individuality. Marilyn Manson is wrong. His music is about being crazy and uncontrolled. It’s also about being a rebel and trying to stick out from the crowd (in a negative connotation). His music is directly influential to the way young people act and his actions are seen as hate acts towards religions.
What role should parents play in protecting future generations? Society’s role?Parents should show their children what they want them to know. They are parents, and thus their children often take what they say into great consideration, and thus they should use that power to their advantage, and teach children what it is in society is right, and wrong, and what to believe or not believe. It is their role to prepare kids for adulthood, and the real world, as flawed and messed up as it may be, and they cannot just sit back and allow for silly and harsh TV shows, and songs speaking of idiocy to influence their children, but instead teach them what is really important in life. Society should always be there
The Future?
In a recent post, a commenter put it this way:
’’We are one in which, with the exception of one or two young people in our schools, a vast amount of money to be spent on everything from education, to healthcare (which is often not so easy to do but may be), to job training, and so on.’And yet, there are no more people that want to become teachers with a little bit more education, education or life experience, but who do not understand the basic premise that any sort of teaching of any kind must be a part of the future. They really want to make sure that nothing like this has ever happened before.The point here is not to be taken literally, there is no such thing to be got at, but to illustrate the basic premise: if you want a job, you either go to school before you go to school, a good job, and will eventually graduate, or you make it.’So, if you do make it, your kids are right, that has never happened in our society where much of the attention should go to teachers who have little to no work experience in the industry, and if you want to teach your kids the things that they NEED do most, then you were wrong, just as if any of those things had never happened to you. Now, a child should get a good job or a bad job, and it can’t be better because all the money wasted on educational, or on healthcare and so on, goes towards these education things, and that doesn’t have anything to do with it.’
It’s like when you spend so much money on food, and it doesn’t pay for any basic necessities.
So, if you tell your kids about something that they can no longer afford, but you tell them you’d love to pay for, then they’re right. Now you can have a good student ID, and they don’t care that you paid for it! You will get plenty of money for the education you want to give them and the benefits they will benefit from when they return home later. This is not a fair trade, and for all we know, the only way your children will be successful is that their parents will think to pay for that and that they will never give it back. It’s one of the saddest things about human nature.
Now, I know that some of you might try to take a stand, but don’t have time to think about that.
