Owner of this quote is Ziggy. Ziggy is a comic strip character. (show picture) He is small, bald, pantless character with no hobbies, friends. He only have pets. a small white dog (fuzz) a cat who is afraid of mouses(sid), a parrot (josh), a fish (goldie) and a duck (wuck) The comic strips is set on the misfortunes which ziggy encounters in surreal and arbitrary situations. In spite of his small stature, readers mention that Ziggy has helped them see the larger picture of problems they are dealing with in their lives.
Ziggy first appeared in 1969 in an collection named When you are not around. The newspaper strip began In 1971 and still continues.
In 1982, Ziggy was animated into a 24 mins short movie named Ziggys Gift and won a Emmy award.
Ziggys creater is Tom Wilson. He was born in 1931. He draw Ziggy for 16 years. Then he left the project to his son, whose name is also Tom Wilson. His aim was to make people love Ziggy. So he states;
I wanted Ziggy to appeal to everyone, regardless of gender or generation, so I was careful to avoid specifics regarding age, occupation, background, etc I wanted him to be loved, so I designed him in somewhat rounded teddy bear proportions to make hime more huggable.
Tom Wilson II has taken the Ziggy project and been drawing since 1987. He studied graphic desing in Miami Uni. and fine art and illustration in Boston Uni.
