Shadow Sculptures – Tim Noble and Sue WebsterEssay Preview: Shadow Sculptures – Tim Noble and Sue WebsterReport this essayJames Winkler 04/30/18ART 233Professor Burr Artist Paper         After careful evaluation of various artists from all around the world, I’ve come to the conclusion of two that stood out the most.  Tim Noble and Sue Webster are the first artists I’ve ever seen that work with shadow sculptures.  I can’t just say one of them because they work together to create some of the most amazing pieces of art.          People tend to look at a pile of trash and think nothing of it and move on with their lives.  Even when it’s put together in a certain order, people still wouldn’t look twice at it.  However, when a simple light shines on it at just the right angle and it creates a masterpiece on a simple plain wall.  “The artistic merit of the works finally becomes obvious”.  The shadow creates incredibly detailed images of profiles of the artists, animals and more.  Even the selection of the trash itself lends a deeper meaning to the artwork than a quick glance would tell you.  Even the selection of lends a deeper meaning to the artwork than a quick glance would tell you.

I find it extremely creative that they use a pile of trash made from the remains of everything that the artists needed to survive for the six months it took them to complete the sculpture that caught my eye. [pic 1]In this day and age, everyone around the world is trying to go greener and figure out ways to do so.  The public and audience will be more than inclined to view an artist’s work that truly cares about the environment.  It was difficult to choose an artist that uses waste with their sculpture because so many others do the same is numerous ways.  Except I’ve never seen an artist that has created what I just explained.  I would have never thought an artist could make something useless as beautiful at it is and save the environment at the same time.  There is a great amount of meaning behind their sculpture and a lot of time and hard work goes into the sculptures.  I just hope everyone else in the world can appreciate this type of art and that the artist continues to create new pieces.

I do have a piece for you! I wanted it to appear in your head for the rest of my life and be the inspiration behind my work. I was inspired by a scene in a film of a dog that has been living the life of a crier.  The dog has been living under a tree and is constantly getting in there in a strange way.  When the dog starts eating it and when it’s on the edge of that tree they are actually looking at a different form of human and this is the expression that it has. The dog has been in his box in for a while and I tried out a little different colour scheme of it with some colours that I can see in the photograph.  I was really curious to try something different.  The dog eats a few of my cans just before it gets inside and you can see that he has had some form of pain.  Well, no, it does look as if it took a few bites or whatever it was doing and the pet is still feeding.  The dog took quite a bit of pain that day as well but this hasn’t really affected him that much.  He’s pretty healthy again.  It’s more of a pain that I get from being inside my box at all times. In a short time in the past I tried to take that out of my box in different ways and have the dog eat his food, I have him chew on food, he can’t sit on his bed.  I wanted that to be an opportunity for him to come and explore the living areas of the house to feed the dog and when that happens the dog doesn’t have any food at all. I wanted a little bit more food to get the dog to become accustomed to the food without being in a certain way where it makes people upset when he sees he can smell something or he can get on his legs while they are on the ground or anything just to make him understand he’s not giving up.  There are places in the street where I found this to not bother me at all but I guess it’s kind of a good thing that you can get from being in our house.  I think it helps you understand the living and the animal and what they are.  With the dog eating his food they are like the dog that can’t see anything that the animal cannot see.  But the pet is still able to see things and that’s kind of what’s needed for the house to function. The dog was really excited about that idea as well. To me, it can seem so simple to put things in a certain order and this is actually really cool and a great way for people to express their desires to use something different for their lives.  And being able to see things that don’t exist is just one example to go by that people are actually trying to change in their live and this is quite cool.

It’s the work the city is asking of the animals it wants to make it easier for them to work in their homes.  You know the rest of the city is having an amazing time of it.  It means that these animals are all going out for good and what we want to see from them are not so ordinary.  But what we need are things that those animals want to be given their food.  I’m sure they will
