I am employed with the Department of Finance and Administration. Functionality in point of fact starts with Legislature, whose duties are to formulate statutes that lower level government agencies, such as my department are to implement. The actual planning and organizing starts in legislature, as the plans come together new statutes, rules and regulations are giving to Administration then implemented by the numerous departments within state government.

The management function of systematically making decisions about the goals and activities that an individual, a group, a work unit or the organization will pursue is planning, according to the University of Phoenix, Week One (2008). State legislatures goal for the fiscal year is to generate revenue in order to maintain the state of Arkansas. Generating revenue is only one of the goals, there are too many goals to name, and however, this is the most important goal. My agency within the department is Safety Responsibility and our particular statute is the Safety Responsibility Act of 1953. The act reviews every motor vehicle accident within this state and implements the requirement to have liability insurance coverage. The statute is the actual plan that my department has to implement.

Safety responsibility is organized in to three sections. The sections are three separate teams that execute three separate functions. Each team is organized to where all four functions of management are used. My team consists of nine individuals and I have my team organized into separate sections to better execute the day to day functions of our department. I have a mail section, phone section and rovers. All three teams within Safety Responsibility work closely together. In my section my team has a way of following out tasks and a time frame as to which the task is to be completed. Supervising and making sure people are staying on task and plans of action as well as organization are thoroughly implemented.

Leading people is a difficult task. I have been supervising for four years and being able to account for people is a difficult, however, the conflicts and complications make one a better leader. If there were never conflicts how one will have the ability to handle conflicts if it arises. There are a number of work related conflicts that can take away from the goals of an organization. Leading my team I have to be able to have the ability to guide my employees and lead away from the conflicts at hand. Through leading my section I have to make sure my people are in place to handle calls and walk in customers and make sure they are thoroughly trained to handle irate customers. A team working in a small business isn’t going to go overboard and overthink things. Their team leader is a key part of the planning process. When you have the expertise to handle those problems and in a matter of minutes, you will see a resolution of problems quickly. As a small business owner I could talk about all sorts of problems related to managing conflicts, and so I always thought a team leader would be a good idea. However I also was often mistaken when I stated to others, “we’re just doing our job, and they won’t be able to do anything about it until we have a great team leader and we know what the problem is.”

We want you to get involved in your team. Do you have any ideas? If so, what does this make me want to get involved in your team? I always see people as potential lead people to work in a team and I use this to my advantage as I am a highly successful leader.

What is your team role?

Your first role is working as a lead person that keeps your team in line. This provides an opportunity to work in a team of many different people, but you also want flexibility, to be able to manage conflicts and get everyone back in line in the end.

Forcing your team to do everything is difficult, so if your team is trying to do things differently than everyone else and they want the latest and greatest solutions, or if we can make adjustments to make your team less overwhelmed with conflict for better coordination and less stress then you should be in charge of it for now.

This can be because you also want to not have to deal with conflict for any reason or be afraid to give in to that fear. Being an expert in this area also helps to give the team an idea of where they need to be, from starting what needs to be done, to where you need to add value, take care of them in the future.

This helps to ensure people are not afraid to leave the company if they get caught. You know it is possible to make a lot of mistakes, but you should keep to what is right, but remember that it is usually not the time to do everything from being in charge at the moment. It depends on what is going on in the company so if you are not really happy after having work done you should ask for some sort of help.

Is there a process behind team success?

Team morale is important to success. Often people do think that it is best to work on and work as a team in a team. The best way are to talk to each other, share what you see, and work on developing a plan together. Once again, it is important to show that you understand what the problems do and you have time to get better. The people who do best with this kind of work are not always those with a lot of work experience in the company. If you ask people if this gives them a better chance they will say it
