DEFINITION: the ability to exercise restraint or control over ones feelings, emotions, reactions.
Self control is often regarded as one of the most important characteristic in the emotional intelligent because it has direct impact on our life. 1. First, it may help children to have better achievement in their academic by helping them remain patient, resist frustration and temptation.

2. Moreover, self control is important for one’s career as the management of a company should acquired as they need to calm, clear and focus.
3. In addition, self-control may also help us to overcome difficulties by helping us to let go of the negative feeling.
3. Besides, emotional regulation may also help people in interpersonal relationship with their lover, families and others as good control of emotion reduces the chances of conflict.

4. Lastly, self control also plays an important role in maintaining harmony in a community by cooling our head down.
1. Start small by challenging yourself to control your behavior for a short period of time. For instance, if you are addicted to television, try turning it off for one day. Then work up to leaving it off for two days, then longer. For every decision you make, leave room to gradually increase the level of self-denial.

2. Tell your family and your friends so that they can remind you of your goals whenever you fall back into bad behaviors.
3. When you feel the urge to lose your self-control, immediately think of something else you could be doing. For example, eating a lollipop when you want to smoke, and leave your mouth no space for a cigarette.
