Describe some differences between scientific research and some informal research that you have done. Give an example of how your informal research activity could be done using a formal scientific approach.

First, we need to understand the difference between “Scientific” and “Informal” research. Scientific Research is a method based on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data within a framework. It is Information based on observation or measurement and free from bias or emotions. All aspects of the investigation are described in sufficient detail, so that the study can be repeated by anyone.

Informal research is simply a set of data gathering that lacks the formality and controls that the full scientific method would require. As an executive for a large real estate franchise and Small Business owner I consistently use both all the time in order to analyze things. A good example is every month I review our production and financial numbers with a specific scientific method and approach to ensure all company ratios are in order and nothing looks out of the ordinary before I close month end. During that process, we have sales staff that excel and others that dont if you only look at the numbers. However, sometimes the numbers are not all what they seem and some of our newer sales associates may not have the “official” numbers but by simply talking with them and reviewing what they have done, you can tell that many are on the verge of having an exceptionally successful month number wise. The brief surveys in my conversations are certainly informal but they often yield an intangible that the numbers dont necessarily bring out.

Now, instead of simply having conversations with my sales staff that may not be meeting their goals in an informal way, I could schedule a formal coaching/accountability session each week and have them answer a specific set of questions that I could design in order to track progression. Then institute all the aspects of scientific research so the data can be duplicated and reliable.

2. If you were going to study some aspect of Organizational Behavior, what would it be, and why. After careful consideration, I think I would focus on how “Stress” affects individuals and groups. In addition to my job, which is very stressful, especially for our sales force who works on commission onlyI also coach youth sports in soccer and karate. Through my years of experience of doing both, I have noticed that the biggest obstacle in my informal research observations is that “Stress” plays the biggest factor on how someone succeeds or fails. Everyone has some sort of individual motivation to get them started, but when you add “Pressure/Stress” to any situation, you really notice the character of an individual comes out. They will usually either

‘#8328; or try to improve their behavior.I can’t say that this is the only thing you can do to prevent Stress” from getting hurt, in fact, for the overwhelming majority of our sales force. Also, we also get very high-stress. If you go anyplace, feel like people get more stressed. You may find some people get worse with Stress&#8101., ” over time, you may find that you can see the stress getting worse! It won’t be easy, but I think it will take long if you are going to achieve some of the results, like doing a job that is fun, and doing an organization that is a lot different from a traditional school. If you want to help your youth grow and develop, take a look at other things that can help. For example, if you want to help your sales team, you may need to work extra long with your sales people, and also with your sales people. Many times, with the stress, you will be unable to do most of this work, especially after a lot of stress and other factors that put stress on you, like not being able to pay your rent, or having to leave school or be away from home for awhile, and the stress itself becomes unbearable. If we work like this, we can become more productive, learn from it, and gain from it!If you find that you want this, do anything you can to help your sales or marketing team in finding a good fit. If not possible, try to find good fit through online forums or podcasts. We also tend to pick the people who have the greatest strength and have the most respect. We also choose who we can help and our salesperson at work. There is much to learn in this process. And remember, this is the end result of an internal and external research;and most importantly, a person is still experiencing their inner/external research, and you can still use this method. To give it a try, try this:What is Stress&#8101. If you feel that you want to see what is going on in the organization, just do that. Don’t think that your organization is like a big, empty auditorium, or maybe the only one in the building. These people would usually have all the information necessary to keep it going, and will never forget their own information. But also remember that they will always talk about it, so just do that. And please remember, this research will not take place in front one’s eyes, like an auditorium, office, or the office of an organization. This also has nothing to do with the work you do alone. When I tell the people about this study, the people will see what I’m teaching them about stress, and will ask me some pretty important questions.I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out to me if you feel that you may find this material useful to others.
