Curious Traveller
Curious TravellerHave you ever wondered what lies beyond your own imagination? That there is a place that no one has discovered… To be a pioneer?Well I have, it’s been my dream to be a pioneer. To step beyond the boundaries and break the steel chains of fear and experience a new challenge. I’ve always imagined three core power sources, which made a smile creep to my lips. The big blue ocean, the soothing waves and me. I stood on my balcony, drinking my warm coffee as the sun glowed vibrantly with delight. The passionate colours filled the sky with warmth. The amazing colours in the sky triggered this amazing idea. It is time to use the powers vested in me to find the mysterious ocean and to prove that mythical creatures do exist. YES! YES! YES! I will be famous, a star, known for proving mankind wrong. The next morning I woke up by the sound of my alarm and rushed out of bed to have a shower. I brushed my hair into a low ponytail and placed a blue bow. For my makeup I just put lip gloss over my pink lips and a touch of eyeliner on my eyelids to make my almond brown eyes more mysterious. I drove to school with no traffic, in fact no car was in front or behind me. The second I laid a foot on the school grounds, it was deserted. I think I even saw a tumbleweed rolling about. “Hello? Anybody there?” I askedNo reply.I wondered around the school to see if there was a student or a teacher around until I saw a locker with the number 13 written on it. I was shocked. My school is really superstitious and to see the number 13 written on a locker was bizarre. This number was usually skipped like when were a counting things such as students in a class to see who is absent.I stepped closer to locker, blocking my inner thoughts that’s screaming at me to not open the locker. It felt like this door was my key to success. I shut my eyes tightly and opening the door as fast as I could. Suddenly, I felt this gush of wind that danced around my body grabbing me tightly like a serpent. Dragging me into the pits of hell.I found myself magically landing on this black platform. Its darkness seemed to envelope me in a never ending fortress of mystic. My breathing slowed as I tried to take in more of the stale, humid air. I used the rough cave wall to guide me through it. I could hear a soft dripping noise as dew slid of the rocks. Drip, drip, drip, like a heartbeat. Spires of rock hung from the ceiling and stood erect upon the floor. A soft squeak alerted me to the presence of either mice or bats. The chilly draft sent shivers down my spine. My foot suddenly catches on a rock and with a small shriek I fall to the floor, my hands landing on slippery limestone worn away by the ages of water rushing through the cavern. A sigh of relief was released from mouth as I stood, knowing this is only the beginning.
