Questionnaire on Low Cost Airlines
Questionnaire Piloting & AdministrationThere are considerable ways of approaches to conduct research and gather data, however one way that makes it truly simple is by doing a survey. A survey is defined as a brief interview or discussion with individuals about a specific topic. In survey research, the researcher chooses a sample of respondents from a population and directs a standardised survey to them. The questionnaire can be a written document that is completed by the person being surveyed, an online questionnaire, a face-to-face interview, or a telephone interview. Using surveys, it is possible to gather information from huge or small population.Different modes of survey administration are as below: Person administered survey ( Face to face)TelephoneMailWeb surveyMixed method from aboveWe selected person administered survey method for survey administration as it is one of the most effective methods of survey administration. Moreover, we wanted to meet the respondents personally and wanted to know their views about low cost airlines. This method has certain advantages and disadvantages which are as below.Advantages:Personal Contact: In this method, we can personally meet the respondents and we have the ability to answer the questions of the participants. For example, if the respondents don’t understand any question, it is possible to explain them the questions in detail.

Response rate :The researcher has more control in this type of survey method in comparison to mail surveys in which the researcher must hold up to perceive what number of respondents really answer and send back the survey. In addition, in personal meeting the researcher can easily convince the respondents to fill up the survey.Accuracy:In personal meeting, generally the answers are accurate and the researcher is rest assured that only the respondent has replied to the questionnaire while in other methods, the survey can be answered by someone else too.No waiting time:The feedback from the respondent is received instantly. There is no waiting time for the results. They are delivered right away. Disadvantages:Slow speed:Individually asking the respondents to answer the survey and recording their answers is a time consuming process. Costly:The cost is high in terms of labour and time to carry out the survey.Potential of error:There is a possibility of error if the question is miscommunicated or misinterpreted by the respondent and if the response is wrongly recorded.Bias:Using personally administered survey may introduce bias from the researcher or the respondent.
