The way I see it, people will do what they want, I do not agree with prostitution but if it were legal, the women who are out there would be more protected. I do not believe victimless crime exists. For example, in prostitution the victim is the person who is selling their body in exchange for money. Although we have seen how Hollywood glamorizes prostitution, it is not a safe way to live.
In our society, we have law enforcement and politicians stating what is wrong and what is right but perhaps if they were to legalize prostitution less taxpayers money would be spent on the legal system and more money could go towards safe sex education and counseling for these victims. I am sure pimps would not be happy if prostitution were to become legal, this would take away the power they hold over these women.
