The short story ЎoA Rose for EmilyЎ± by William Faulkner portrays how an overly protected love could destroy oneЎЇs life. Emily Grierson, the main character of the story, first gives the reader an impression of acting inhumane and even mad. But after a closer look into her character, I think that the reader could almost understand how and why she turned out the way that she did.
Emily Grierson is a woman who became very dependent on others, primarily her father. She has grown up her whole life in the same house, probably with the same butler, and with the only company of her father.
