Achievement #5: University of Indian, Bengaluru

The 2016 University of Indian, Bengaluru, a one-year high school diploma programme, included a degree in business and accounting from a leading private school in Bengaluru. To this end, the university also carried out an initiative through its national development agencies (NDFAs), in collaboration with the ASEAN-based World Bank and the Indian Federation of Information & Technology. The university participated in three research programmes on social inequality, inequality, social mobility, poverty and climate change. The student body participated in a campaign with the government to give equal rights for all people. The university also provided assistance within the state through scholarships and fellowships, in partnership with the United States Treasury Department. It has more than 8,000 full and part-time students and more than 1,000 non-institutional undergraduate students in engineering and math.

In May 2013, the university invited and paid for more than 20,000 students to participate in the National High School’s National Research Development Foundation Initiative (NSDI). The NSDI is designed to transform the education sector through the study/academic participation of over 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The NDI is one part of the larger SANSII program which provides government grants, scholarships and grants through academic scholarships (for PhD thesis/post graduate course and PhD student/Post Research Master). It has a number of partnerships on key social services for the developing world. The NDI also includes a number of research initiatives within the Indian Science and Technology Institute of India (“ISITIA”). The university has also participated in a number of activities to support science education for over a decade, including developing the first comprehensive global science curriculum, which is supported by several international research centres.

Belfast University provides a major teaching and student life programme in the academic and engineering sciences. The university also provides fellowships in several universities in the area (Famous Universities, University of Hyderabad, Kolkata University, Chennai University, Hyderabad University, Kolkata). The programme has a significant range of programmes including the Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Education (BSSE), Certificate of Education for Foreign Students, and Doctor of Science (Doctor’s in Economics). The focus of the programme was on gender equity and social development, including gender empowerment, gender solidarity empowerment and social justice, and development of the development of the civil society, for the development of indigenous and international cooperation. The programme also included a special edition of the journal Social Inquiry to promote human-animal understanding and to stimulate understanding between different viewpoints

The first programme in the programme is also named after it, “National Research Institute of Gender Equity and Humanism”. The second and third programmes are jointly organised by the University of Hyderabad. The third and fourth programmes are jointly sponsored by the Women and Disability Institute of National Research (WADA). Both programmes are designed for women and girls who wish to gain a sense of equity and who feel a sense of responsibility for their gender identity or identity as a group. The fourth and fifth programmes are co-sponsored by the University of Kolkata. All programmes involve a male and female teacher based on a specific gender identity or identity. Undergraduate women are encouraged to work through the Gender Education Research Laboratory (GERA) that develops women’s gender identity theories, research in gender studies, and education in gender studies in schools. These courses are also administered by the Women and Disability Institute that provides specialist training for female teachers in gender equity studies. These three courses, along with Women and Disability Institute training on a wider scale for teachers and training in gender studies, both have a gender-equity emphasis, which leads to a larger role for female teachers in providing gender-equity, empowerment and understanding of a range of issues, including gender inequality, gender politics, sexual harassment and violence.
