The Role of Women
In the past, the role of women consisted only on staying at home raising children , cleaning, cooking and taking care of their husbands. They were supposedly less abled than men.

A lot has changed nowadays whereas women now have laws that protect their rights worldwide such as having the right to vote and the right to home security etc.

In addition, lots and lots of opportunities are now given to women concerning many aspects. They have unlimited job opportunities, many of which women have advantage over men. A woman today can occupy any job she can see herself able to handle. For example she can be a congress woman or even a president over an entire country. She can be a taxi driver, an accountant, a teacher or a firefighter. As long as she has the dream and the right motivation she become whatever she wants, even a stay at home mom!

Many women have proved to the world their capabilities. We can recall OPRAH WINFREY who has risen from poverty to become the first African-American woman who is a billionaire; Oprah Winfrey embodies the American dream. Through television, movies, books, and radio she speaks to women the world over.

There’s also Aung San Suu Kyi, having fought courageously for human rights and democracy, Suu Kyi is the world’s only Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
However, we cannot deny the role given to women by nature, the role which she and only she can fulfill. It’s the role to bear a child in her body and give birth, the role of being a source of love, compassion, safety, beauty and peace. Many of those traits are not present in men.

All in all, the question is not about what role women should play, it’s a question of what role a women can’t play in society! The saddening fact, though, is that we still see various gender discrimination forms mostly in the developing countries and even in some very well educated households. We can only hope to see women have their rights maintained worldwide
