1.        What are the strengths and weaknesses associated with addressing your workplace-based problem using i) a scientifically rigorous or ii) a practically useful approach?        Workplace problem solutions come in many different forms.  The key principles to solving common workplace challenges is using rigorous scientific methods and useful practical approaches. Scientifically rigorous methods adopt systematic and mathematical models to reach the answer to the problem at hand. Scientific methods commence with developing variables which are to be analyzed to reach the definite answer. Often the variables are quantitatively arranged for easy measurement and comparison (Weiss, 2014). Based on the nature of data incorporated in scientific problem-solving approach, personal prejudices and bias are eliminated during decision making. Scientific methods only allow managers to rely on their data results and eliminated any possible bias, or reasoning error. Decision made on scientific evidence, the present high degree of reliability, accuracy, and validity. Once a scientific framework has been established, it can be tested several times and the same result achieved; reliability indicators. Scientific tools eliminate possible inaccurate determination of results and ensure that the result come by are valid. As a result, scientific method present error-free problem-solving approaches.

The Practical problem-solving approach has found its use in many organizations across the world because it involves all stakeholders in problem-solving. The problem-solving approach, as well links problem resolves and implementation of changes. The main challenge to adopting the practical problem-solving approach is that it can lead to bias and poor diagnosis of the problem if not well implemented. 2.        How could evidence-based management enable you to address your workplace-based problem?        Evidence-based management is a growing management problem-solving technique. The practice enables managers to only select successful scientific approaches to solving problems at hand. Since the available evidence illustrates the merits and demerits of a problem-solving strategy it minimizes many errors that occur during decision making (Weiss, 2014). By reviewing evidence-based materials, it is easy for me to determine problems solving approach, such as a change in management. Often, evidence-based materials present more than one persons’ view that allows for multiple comparisons. Comparisons are important for determining evidence material strengths and weaknesses. Evidence-based information present updates information which can be used in the organization. Finally, I will use and support the evidence collected to organize stakeholders to promote organizational change
