Retail Therapy
Retail Therapy is a term more commonly known as a way of making ourselves feel better by shopping.For instance, if a shopper had a bad day they would go shopping to buy a shirt or a pair of shoes. Some shoppers may just shop for the enjoyment of shopping, like buying things they may not really need.

Retail Therapy is a real good way to explain a persons point of view of making a bad day into a very good day. Maybe a shopper was mad at someone, and they go shop for a shirt for themselves or for someone else. It has been known that a majority of the people who do “Retail Therapy” are women. Females are known to go shopping when they are upset or have had a bad day. They like to meet their friends at the Mall and just talk while they are shopping. Whereas the male would go out work on the car or do yard as a way to let out frustration.

Most Retail Therapy Shoppers also shop without even knowing they are shopping. Some may even call this compulsive shopping. Compulsive Shoppers also tend to hide purchases they have made to try and avoid and argument that may arise from a family member. Some of these shoppers like to buy for others. They do not always shop for themselves.

This type of a shopper will also be known to shop way beyond their limit. Most of the time the shopper will not be able to pass a good opportunity due to the item being on sale or because the item is the last one.

Some specialist may call this an addiction to spending money or just plainly a shopping addiction. Most of the people who do shop are thought to be addicted to shopping and as a way not to deal with reality. Their spending may also be out of control. Many of these addicted shoppers will shop beyond their financial limit.

Most stores do their advertising aimed at the female shopper. This would explain why most of the Retail Therapy shoppers are women.
