The conclusion is based on the following methodology and findings of the research.

METHODOLOGYA questionnaire was floated among the first-year students to objectively deal with this situation. I have enclosed the survey along with this report for your reference. The survey aimed to determine a correlation between the anxiety levels of students and various reasons such as placements, academic performance and adjustment issues which were discussed in the meeting. The responses of students towards the various features of the proposed mentoring program such as interaction with the faculty members and seniors, transparency in the placement process, more cultural events in the college etc. were also recorded. SURVEY RESULTSBased on the results of the survey, 52% of the respondents feel that they are stressed and are not able to cope up with the pressure. 48% of these respondents attribute it to their academic performance, 32% to adjustment issues and 16% to the placement process. Rest of the students attribute it to other reasons such as peer pressure, less social interactions, lack of interest etc. Furthermore, the students have welcomed the idea of the Mentoring Program. Around 91% students believe it is going to be helpful for their academic performance and overall personality development. More than 70% of the students believe that increasing interaction with the faculty and the second-year students is going to be beneficial for them.
