After many years of suffering with poverty, poor governance, and gender parity, India is slowly developing as one of the most economically stable countries in the world. Despite the challenges it had in the past about political extremism and rugged economy, India is on the verge of challenging The United States as the world’s superpower.         With a population of over one billion people, the Indian economy gains much in terms of labor provision. The availability of cheap human resource has been able to attract development of industries. Considerably, the establishment of new industries has significantly created employment opportunities for the Indians thus fuelling further economic growth. As one of the largest importers of crude oil, India’s economy is expected to perform better after producers across the world opted to lower fuel prices. Previously, most companies based in India could not exploit their full potential because of expensive fuel imports and the fiscal policies associated with service provision. However, despite the swift economic progress India makes, poverty level in the country is still a concern. Since gaining independence from the British in 1947, the country has struggled to reduce poverty to no success. Many have died because of malnutrition and poor nutrition. Concisely, researches attribute high poverty levels in India to its failure to reduce the gap between the poor and the rich.
