Club IT is a newly remodeled club located downtown, owned and operated by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. Ruben and Lisa are searching the market for an intern to determine what the night club is lacking or is in need of in the IT department and this is where I come in to assist as their new hire intern.

When hired at Club IT as an intern, the owners Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada informed me of what their mission was for their night club and it was as follows “We, Ruben and Lisa, Offer you live music, DJs, dance space and refreshments that suit your life style. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT”. So when designing a system for their club I must keep this in mind and their clientele, a young hip group that enjoys listing to a live band, and different types of music such as hip-hop, techno, electronic, and a selected Top 40s music.

The one thing I chose to do to help assist in determining what Club IT needs as far as their Information Management (IT) was I took a few friends on a Friday night to Club IT, just to see how things run and operate as a whole. This night out I need to pay close attention to works, what does not work, if Ruben and Lisa have enough staff in different areas in the club, the way orders are taken and put out, the waiting time for orders; these are just some of the things that will help me with my analyzing of Club ITs information System. Then when I report to work on Monday I will sit down the Ruben and Lisa an address the issues at hand, which I observed from a night at Club IT.

Monday afternoon I started with telling Ruben and Lisa that specific strategies and business models are used to assist business owners in meeting their business needs, thus elevating the chances of making them successful. With these strategic initiatives, “organizations can leverage their platforms to develop new Web-based applications, products, and services, as well as to provide superb customer service” (Rainer & Turban, 2008 p. 5). This statement alone assured them that I knew what I was talking about and could help their club flourish. The very first thing that needed to be address was Club IT website; it is setup for general formation for the customers and employee information. For one the site needs a login for employees only to access any employee information that is provided in the employee handbook that is given on the day of hire.

Club IT website should have all things pertaining to the company as far as employees, things such as their mission, employment at the company, equal employment opportunity practices, unlawful harassment, any employee benefits, incentives, job descriptions, policy and procedures for reporting complaints, open door policy, background checks and investigations, employment practices and
