Recession forces organizations to take up a slew of measures to ensure the profitability of the organizations and sometimes ensure the very survival of the organization. The most dreaded of all these measures is downsizing which involves forcefully terminating employment of some employees (Scribd,).

One of the things that are of primary importance in the workplace during recessionary times is open communication with employees. The frequency of communication must increase within the workforce during these times of uncertainty. Management should openly discuss the challenges they face and make it clear to their staff information regarding the companys present status and the immediate steps currently in place to face the recession. This will basically give the employee enough time to prepare themselves for future events to come and can make them feel a sense of relief if the situations turns out to be not as bad as they initially thought. Employee will respect the honesty which in return can increase productivity.

Clinton in turns in his speech states what he views are the common good of the people and how this can be reach through politics. He believes that all “common good folks” favor equal opportunity, empowerment, cooperating with other, mutual responsibility and that there should be a maximum consumption on wealth and power. He disputes ideology and says that those who use ideology have already made their minds up and leans more towards philosophy because you are open to debate as well as evidence and arguments.
