The busy schedules that most adults face every day have created a growing health problem in the modern world. Stress affects almost everyone, from the highly pressed executive to the busy homemaker or student. It can cause a variety of physical disorders ranging from headaches to stomach ulcers and even alcoholism. Stress, like a common sold, is a problem that cannot be cured; however, it can be controlled. A person can learn to control stress in four ways.

One way to deal with the stress can be setting realistic goals. We, humans have to be realistic in every aspect of our life. Setting attainable goals have significant impact on our life. Achievable goals make us happy, while the impossible ones may lead to tension and depression. As targets are set too high and we are focused on getting things done quickly, failure in achieving goals can frustrate us. In order to achieve goals easily without depression, we should prioritize and categorize them based on periods of time. We should not demand too much from ourselves. Simple goals can be achieved in a day or a week, while more difficult ones may require at least a month or even a year and we can get to it step by step. Besides, we should try to set the goals in accordance to our abilities as unachievable goals are always the source of desperation and stress.

Secondly, choosing a hobby or entertaining with other interesting and funny activities is another way to deal with stress. When we do whatever makes us happy, stress is easily defeated. We feel relaxed while enjoying and it helps us to forget everything which caused stress. Moreover, hobby can help us to find the field which we actually like and in which we are really experts.

Thirdly, we should try to control stress by taking care of our health. Healthy body is a great asset for stress handling. According to the researches regular exercise can help to control weight, boost energy, improve mood and reduce stress. Furthermore, sleep has a positive impact on our health and helps our body and brain to relax, while any sleep disturbance can diminish mental performance and can cause anxiety.

Lastly, we cant always win. We are not all-powerful and everything will not always go the way we want. Therefore, we should accept that there will be situations, events and people throughout our life that will be difficult to control. Acceptance may be difficult, but in the long run its easier than railing against a situation you cant change. Learning to adapt and ride the waves can help us in reducing stress. Even though, we cant control some of the stressors in our life, we can control our responses to them.

To summaise, Taking everything into account, nearly everyone feels some degree of daily stress. Symptoms can vary and not all the people can cope with it. Nevertheless, setting goals realistically, finding new passion for something, leading a healthy life
