Transcendentalism: The word refers to the idea that in determining the ultimate reality of God, the universe, the self, and other important matters, one must transcend, or go beyond, everyday human experience in the physical world, intuition is an important tool for discovering truth.

Example 1: In Star Wars, they believe in something called “the Force”. The Force is said to be all around them, and its what gives Jedi special abilities. It connects everyone and in a way it is a higher power.

Psychoanalytic Criticism: Draws upon psychoanalytic theories, to fully understand the test, the writer, and the reader. The basis of this approach is the idea of the existence of a human unconscious. Impulses, desires, and feelings about which a person is unaware but which influence emotions and behavior; your subconscious thinking of a writer.

Star Wars Episode I
As imminent conflict arises between the powerful Trade Federation and the planet of Naboo. The Jedi masters travel to Naboo to warn the Queen of the galactic fallout which is to follow. Eventually, Naboo is invaded forcing the Jedi to evacuate the planet with the Queen and her court. They travel to a desert planet where they meet a slave boy named Anakin Skywalker who is evidently one with the Force. They enlist his help in fighting the war, while the Jedi confront one of the Dark Jedi behind the invasion, Darth Maul, while his master continues to lead the invasion behind the scenes.

A few years after the Phantom Menace threatened the planet Naboo, Padmé, the previous Queen, is now a Senator representing her home planet Naboo. A faction of political separatists, led by Count Dooku, attempts to assassinate her. There are not enough Jedi to defend the Republic against the threat, so the Chancellor enlists the aid of Jango Fett, who promises that his army of clones will handle the situation. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi continues to train the young Jedi Anakin Skywalker, who fears that the Jedi code will forbid his growing romance with Padmé.
