Requesting a pay increase for a model employee
Calvin Johnson is a prototypical employee when it comes to customer service. Always willing to go above and beyond to satisfy customers at all times. Mr. Johnson is regularly available to assist customers in addition to his coworkers if need be. Because of his eagerness and initiative during his shifts he has provided the company with an asset that directly affects our revenues with the customers he assists.

Along with those characteristics, there are also other things that Calvin does that makes him such a valuable employee. His great attitude and helpfulness has gone a long way in retaining customers as well as them referring new customers to our company. Our company has seen our profits rise over two percent and a higher call volume since his hire. With employees that have such a positive impact on our business such as this we should do all we can to keep him around if he continues this level of work.

For the reasons aforementioned, I believe that it will be a good idea to consider Calvin for a 1.50 per hour pay raise. I understand that with the increase he will be paid the same amount as supervisors. But I do strongly feel that he is well worth that cost even as just an hourly call worker. His intangibles benefit the company greatly. The pay increase will compensate him correctly and show how his hard work is appreciated.
