Race: TV and Reality
Despite television and reality, the race biases card exists between the two. Television is a made up program show for the viewers. Depended upon the shows name, the show is based on the particular story. Majority shows have different races playing a particular role. Racial bias can be transmitted via TV shows through something simple as nonverbal behavior. Shows that are more of pro-white bias are those that show diversity with the actors.

Comparing real life racial interactions to those on Television is a significant difference. Real life is just what it is. Many people have different views and some dont care what others think. Knowing the history of African Americans, many still hold a grudge. Many African Americans cant get over what our Ancestors have been thru. Even though they never knew our kin folks, they hold on to what happened and never understood the reasoning behind it. In the twentieth century, times have changed. Majorities still looks at the skin color and assume all African Americans are the same. But then you have the sensible and realistic people who realize the past should have never been and we are all the same, inside and out.

I recall seeing a television show by the name of Sanford and Son. This show is about a widowed junk dealer whose grown son is still living with him. Fred, the father sells junk and is considered poor. His comical schemes and bigotry towards a Puerto Rican character Julio bothered Freds son Lamont. To the public eye, Fred would have been considered a racist. But underneath his smart comments, Fred didnt have hate in his blood.

That was and still is one of my favorite shows. The white and Latino characters on that show all got along. They might have said funny things to each other but they looked out for each other at the end of the day. In December 2009, Black Broadcasting Network, (BBN) was launched on TV Video on Demand (VOD), and is black owned and operated company that targets the urban crowd. The main focus of this program is to have all minorities artist, cast, comedians and filmmakers. This show is not limited to viewers of one race but to all. The show will relate more to the minorities just as BET. The sitcom Amos n Andy on CBS was the first television series to feature an all-Negro cast. The program was condemned by the NAACP due to the ways black people were characterized and taken off air.

Real life racial interactions have come a long way. The black people didnt use to get main roles on the tube. Now we are leading and playing roles as if everyone is same on screen and off.
