A new and constructive culture in which social scientists and policymakers have been actively building a “healthy, flexible workforce” has developed, much more slowly than they had anticipated. While many are anxious about possible unintended consequences or disruptions to this new system, many feel that the most likely outcome has been a new and healthier kind of work culture in which individuals with different interests, abilities, and concerns are encouraged to engage with and engage with each other in a friendly workplace.
