How Your Gender Affects a Career in Professional Sports
How your gender affects a career in Professional Sports
Whether you are male or female plays a key part in your ability to have a
lucrative career in professional sports.
As young children we start out all on the same level. We can play the same
sports, there are co-ed teams that we can play on together girls can play
baseball, football, soccer. As we start to get a little older the powers that be,
decide that the girls and boys dont need to play the same sports with the
opposite sex anymore.
So thats when it all begins, the boys can still play baseball, football, wrestling,
etc. and the girls options begin to dwindle at this time. As a male youre still able
to play all the sports that you have your entire life baseball, football, wrestling,
basketball, etc. and this leads to you, if your good enough having a lot more
choices of what sports you can excel in and work towards a college scholarship.
And then you move on to after college (if your good enough) to play that sport
professionally and get paid a lot of money for doing something that is not only
fun for you, but also is not like having to work a job. Dont get me wrong guys, I
know that playing sports is a lot of work. And I respect the people that do it. And
you also have the option of trying out for the Olympics (still more opportunities
for males) here is where the tides change.
Females can play softball, basketball, soccer. And they can also choose which to
excel in for a chance at a college scholarship however the males have the extra
advantage of having sports that girls arent allowed to or is looked down upon
such as wrestling and football.
