WMT is the leader in the factors of market share, customer services, logistics management, global expansion and management. Also, WMT and Costso are co-leaders in customer loyalty, so it is also good at customer loyalty. However, WMT dose bad in product quality and supplier relationship. For product quality, Costco and TGT are the co-leaders and WMT has only 2 marks, which is the poorest among the 3 competitors. WMT should pay attention to SHLD in supplier relation and customer service as it is strong in these aspects although it is not so excellent or even bad in other aspects. Also, more attention should be paid to Costco as it is stronger than WMT in many factors such as product quality and price competitiveness. And they are co-leaders in customer loyalty. It will be a powerful competitor and the nearest rival in the following years against WMT.
Form the four firms CPM score we know that although TGT and SHLD are famous in the world, they still have a distance with WMT. These years, these two firms wons pose a big threat to WMT but will pose a threat in the future especially in the aspects where WMT isnt good at.In the retailing industry, the five most important critical success factors are Market share, Price strategy, Customer service, Product quality and Financial position. In the first and the third factor, WMT performs best because WMT has the highest sales growth and the biggest market share. Costco also performs well because it gets two 4 marks in price competitiveness and product quality, whats more, its weighed score is 3.22, which is also above the average and just a little lower than WMT. Then is TGT, SHLD ranks the last. However WMT performs the worst in quality among the four firms, because these years more and more people begin to complain about WMTs product quality in oversea market. This is a threat to WMT. We all know that these years, the oversea market is becoming more and more important, WMT should improve its product quality in oversea market and have a good relationship with his suppliers to overcome its weaknesses so that it can rank the number one forever.
